We’ve confirmed that some users on IPv4 networks in China recently experienced issues accessing
facades.guopu.store. The issue has now been identified and resolved. If you’re still
unable to access the site, feel free to submit feedback to us.
The Facades app has stopped its updates and introduced Heritage Mode. Heritage Mode is a feature that
allows you to specify a custom data source for the Facades store directory and configuration files.
To help existing users continue using Facades to learn about the latest Apple Store information and
record your visits, Guopu has hosted the Facades database and will continue to keep the database updated
in the future.
How to
Search for “Heritage Mode” in the search field of Facades, tap on the “Enter Heritage Mode” button,
switch it on in the pop-up view, and type in this URL in the “Custom Data Source” field (click to copy):
https://facades.guopu.store/
An alternative database is provided with Chinese localizations if preferred by you:
https://facades.guopu.store/zh/
Restart the app. If successful, you should see the normal Facades interface. Otherwise, an error message
will appear, and you can try again.
Why would I use a third-party database? The official Facades database stopped
updating on October 15, 2024. The original database no longer includes updates for new stores or changes
to existing stores.
What kind of data does Guopu database provide compared to the original one? In
addition to retaining original data from Facades, we provide information on all new stores and existing
store updates since Facades stopped updating, including renovations and remodels as featured in the
Timeline of Facades. We will also provide gift images in the Timeline, illustrated by Filip.
Will I lose my Apple Store visit records if I use a third party database? No, your
visit records are stored separately in iCloud, and switching databases doesn’t affect your visit
records.
What are the limitations of using third-party databases? Due to the design of the
Facades app, third-party databases can only provide store information and content for the timeline
feature, including images. In addition, Facades cannot display new stores that opened after 2024 in the
store statistics or the filtering features.
How do I submit feedback if I think there are mistakes in the Guopu database? You
can click on the button below and follow the link
to submit feedbacks, or email us at m@guopu.store.
Can I switch back to the original database if I don’t want to keep using the Guopu
database? You can easily switch back to the original database at any time. Simply
enter Heritage Mode again and turn off this feature. Please note that store visit records you've added
using the Guopu database that don't exist in the original database will be temporarily hidden. If you
switch back to a database that includes these stores, the relevant records will be automatically
restored.
